JV WINS CONSOLATION by Robin Henderson. The Junior Varsity Basketball team played in a tournament at Bayland Home on January 22-24. The first game was played against Bethany Methodist by was lost in the last seconds 40-37. Beau sharbrough was high pointer with 13 points. The JV boys went back on Saturday and played South Central. The game was lost by a score of 60-51, but in the end won by forfeit. Steve Sekal came out ahead with 29 points. The boys went back Saturday night to play for consolation. They played Bellaire and won by a score of 62-53. Steve Sekal was again high pointer with 25 points. The team received a consolation trophy for winning the last two games. Overall high pointers were Steve Sekal with 64 points and Steve Saenz scoring 31 points. Steve Sekal came back with an all-tourney trophy also.
